Whether you're looking for a quick lunch idea or a snack to impress your friends, these taquitos will not disappoint.
Ingredients
🥩 500g ground beef
🌮 2 tablespoons taco seasoning
🧀 1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar, Monterey Jack, or your favorite blend)
🌯 8 small tortillas
🛢️ 1 cup cooking oil (canola or vegetable)
🥛 2 tablespoons milk or 1 beaten egg (for sealing)
🍅 Pico de gallo (for garnish)
🍋 Lime wedges (for serving)
Instructions
1- Cook the Ground Beef:
- In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef until it is browned and fully cooked. Break the beef into crumbles using a meat masher or fork.
2- Season the Beef:
- Add the taco seasoning to the cooked ground beef. Stir well to ensure the seasoning is evenly distributed. Remove from heat and let it cool slightly.
3- Prepare the Tortillas:
- Lay out the tortillas. Place a generous spoonful of the seasoned beef mixture and a sprinkle of shredded cheese onto each tortilla.
4- Seal and Roll the Taquitos:
- Brush the edges of the tortillas with milk or beaten egg to help seal them.
- Roll each tortilla tightly around the filling to form a taquito. Secure with a toothpick if needed.
5- Fry the Taquitos:
- Heat the cooking oil in a deep pan over high heat. Once the oil is hot, carefully place the taquitos seam side down into the oil.
- Fry for about 2-3 minutes per side, or until they are golden brown and crispy.
6- Drain the Taquitos:
- Remove the taquitos from the oil and let them drain on a plate lined with paper towels to absorb excess oil.
7- Serve:
- Arrange the taquitos on a serving platter. Garnish with pico de gallo and lime wedges for an extra burst of freshness.
